Journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that a major club is seeking to sign Luka Modric on a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid expires.
The Croatian international announced the end of his legendary journey at the Santiago Bernabéu after 13 years, without revealing his next destination.
According to Romano, Milan is the latest club seeking Modric’s services, and he is currently the “dream” of the Rossoneri’s new sporting director, Igli Tare.
The Italian club is currently considering whether to complete the deal, and there are preliminary discussions within Modric’s camp to begin negotiations.
The 38-year-old is in no rush to decide his next destination, preferring to wait until after the Club World Cup to make his decision.
Milan is not the only club seeking Modric’s signature; the player is also attracting interest from clubs such as Inter Miami and Al-Nassr Saudi Arabia, and he has other offers in European leagues.
It’s worth noting that Modrić wants to sign a one-year contract with any club he joins, then participate in the 2026 World Cup with Croatia, before retiring.
