Troubles quickly began at Al Ahly during the 2025 Club World Cup, and surprisingly, the hero was Mahmoud Hussein Trezeguet, the club’s second captain.
Ahmed Sayed Zizo succeeded in winning a penalty kick against Inter Miami in the 42nd minute, which could have given Al Ahly the lead and completely changed the course of the match.
Camera cameras captured Al Ahly players arguing over who would take the penalty.
Wissam Abu Ali was supposed to be the primary penalty taker last season, yet Trezeguet stormed into the penalty area, took the ball, and took the kick, despite the Palestinian star’s disapproval.
Meanwhile, Zizo appeared in the background asking to take the penalty, but Trezeguet insisted on taking it himself.

The tension was palpable, and unfortunately for Al Ahly and Trezeguet, the player, who had just returned from Trabzonspor, took the penalty kick poorly, with goalkeeper Oscar Ustari saving it twice.
The incident is unlikely to go unnoticed by Al Ahly’s management, given that Trezeguet inexplicably insisted on taking the penalty kick against the order, especially given the fan anger at the lack of discipline and strictness on the part of coach José Ribeiro.
