A clash has begun? Enrique: Dembélé’s comments are nonsense!

A clash appears to have erupted between Luis Enrique and Ousmane Dembélé following the Frenchman’s comments after Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 defeat to Rennes on Friday.

Dembélé criticized his teammates, saying, “Playing selfishly on the pitch won’t help us, and we won’t achieve the titles we aspire to. Last season, we put the club, the badge, and Paris Saint-Germain before ourselves.”

He added, “We must rediscover this team spirit now, especially in the second half of the season, where Paris must be the absolute priority, not individuals.”

Dembélé’s tone seems to have displeased Enrique, who responded firmly, saying, “I will never allow any player to be above the club… that’s clear.”

He continued, “I am responsible for the team, but no one is above the club, whether it’s the players, me, the sporting director, or even the president.”

“These statements are worthless… they stem from frustration after the match that just ended,” he concluded.

It’s worth noting that Paris Saint-Germain is currently in talks with Dembélé to renew his contract, but reaching an agreement appears complicated given the player’s demand for €60 million annually, while PSG’s offer has only reached €30 million per year.
