A big shock.. the revelation of Ali Maaloul’s injury and the length of his absence

It seems that Ali Maaloul played his last match for Al-Ahly against Esperance in the CAF Champions League final, after suffering an injury that will keep him out of the field for a very long time.

Maaloul left the match just two minutes after it started, following an intervention by Yann Sassi, which caused an injury due to which he was unable to even walk on his feet.

According to what was reported by the Egyptian media, the initial diagnosis of Ali Maaloul’s injury is a rupture of the Achilles tendon, which is the worst injury that can affect a football player.

The Tunisian player is scheduled to undergo further tests on Sunday in order to confirm the nature of the injury and determine a date for surgery and the rehabilitation program.

If the injury is confirmed, Maaloul will be absent from the field for a period of not less than 8 months and up to a year depending on how well his body adapts and the speed of his recovery.

Maaloul’s 34-year-old contract with Al-Ahly expires at the end of the current season, and without a doubt, his exposure to a severe injury that is difficult to fully recover from may spell the end of his career at the Red Castle.
