The host venues for the UEFA Champions League finals through 2029 have been finalized following new decisions ratified by the UEFA Executive Committee during its meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The Executive Committee awarded the 2028 final to the Munich Football Arena (Allianz Arena), while Spotify Camp Nou will host the 2029 final, following the previous assignment of the 2027 final to the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.
The 2026–2027 final will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2027, at Atletico Madrid’s home venue, marking the second time the stadium hosts the event following the 2019 final, where Liverpool secured a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
The final returns to Munich the following season, with the Allianz Arena having previously hosted the 2012 and 2025 editions. The venue was the sole fully qualified candidate to host the 2028 final, making it the straightforward selection for the Executive Committee.
The primary allocation went to Spotify Camp Nou, whose bid prevailed over Wembley Stadium for the 2029 final, setting the stage to host its first major global footballing event following the completion of its redevelopment project, which will expand its expected capacity to approximately 105,000 spectators.
Barcelona’s home ground has not hosted the final since the historic 1999 match, when Manchester United staged a late comeback against Bayern Munich to win 2-1 with two injury-time goals, having also hosted the European Cup final in 1989.
With these selections, the next three finals will rotate between Madrid, Munich, and Barcelona, leaning on high-capacity venues with extensive organizational experience, while the 2029 hosting rights provide a major boost to the newly renovated Camp Nou and Barcelona’s standing within European football governing bodies.
