Manchester City have reached an agreement with Everton to sign Senegalese forward Iliman Ndiaye in one of the most prominent moves of the transfer window’s closing hours.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the agreement between the two clubs has been finalized, coinciding with personal terms being agreed upon and green light given for medical examinations.
City’s late move hijacked Tottenham’s push for Ndiaye, after the London club had reached an advanced stage in negotiations and agreed a deal in principle with Everton worth around £60 million.
That proposed move was linked to Richarlison’s potential return to Everton for £35 million—structured as separate transactions for accounting purposes, but effectively serving as a player-plus-cash arrangement.
However, Manchester City’s intervention completely reshaped the narrative, as City agreed to a £65 million total financial package, outbidding Tottenham without tying Ndiaye’s transfer to any secondary player deal.
The transaction represents a highly lucrative deal for Everton, who signed the Senegalese international from Marseille in summer 2024 for around £15 million, realizing a value increase of nearly £50 million in just two seasons.
Ndiaye featured in 34 matches across all competitions during the 2025–2026 season, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists, while his overall Premier League record for Everton stands at 15 goals and 4 assists in 67 appearances.
The 26-year-old finished last season ranked second among all Premier League players in completed dribbles with 73 successful take-ons. The completion of his transfer to Manchester City now awaits medical tests and contract signing ahead of the official announcement.
