Al Hilal are closing in on the signing of Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli, as negotiations with Arsenal reach their final stages, with the English club prepared to approve the sale during the summer transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Al Hilal have already sent their contract offer to Martinelli and his agents, while talks regarding personal terms remain ongoing before the player makes his final decision ahead of medical tests and signing.
Discussions between the two clubs revolve around a fee ranging from £50 million to £55 million, with no major obstacles impeding an agreement. Arsenal view the offer as an opportunity to secure a substantial profit on a player acquired from Brazil’s Ituano in the summer of 2019 for just around £6 million.
Regarding Al Hilal’s personal terms, CBS Sports revealed that the proposal exceeds €20 million net annually plus performance bonuses—a salary that could prove decisive in convincing the 25-year-old to embark on a Saudi adventure, despite not having granted his final approval yet.
Martinelli’s openness to joining Al Hilal comes just days after he rejected a move to Galatasaray, who had submitted an offer worth approximately €45 million. The Brazilian winger informed Arsenal’s hierarchy at the time that he was not interested in moving to Turkey, but he now appears closer to departing Europe to join Al-Za’eem.
Martinelli has made 278 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions since arriving in London, scoring 62 goals and providing 36 assists. He concluded the 2025–2026 season with 11 goals and 7 assists across 53 matches.
