Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has expressed his excitement about working under the guidance of Portuguese manager José Mourinho. The French forward emphasized that the “Special One’s” vast experience and winning mentality will be a massive addition to the club.
Mbappé is gearing up for his third season with Los Blancos, driven by a strong desire to bounce back from last season and return major trophies to the Santiago Bernabéu trophy cabinet.
What Did Mbappé Say About Mourinho?
Speaking about his return to Real Madrid’s training camp, Mbappé shared:
“I am very happy to be back, making first impressions with the team, the new coaching staff, my teammates, and everyone working at Valdebebas. It is always great to return here and prepare for the season.”
Regarding Mourinho, the French star explained:
“We talked a lot during the World Cup, as well as over the past few days here. It is incredibly positive to have a manager with such experience, someone who knows how to win and knows the path we must follow to achieve victories.”
He added: “As a player, it is fantastic to have a coach who knows exactly where he is heading. I believe his presence is very positive for us.”
On his physical preparations for the new season, Mbappé noted: “I am trying to give my absolute best because this is the period where we can work the hardest. Once the matches begin, it becomes more about load management. Now is the right time to push hard and get the right sensations so we are fully ready for the first league match.”
Mbappé also made a clear promise to the Real Madrid fanbase:
“I believe we have to win, and I am confident that we will return to lifting trophies this year. I am sure of it. This is what we want, and it will happen because I feel the team has the desire. Mourinho’s Real Madrid will officially kick off their La Liga campaign away against Espanyol on August 22. Their original Matchday 1 fixture against Real Sociedad has been postponed to August 26 due to the late return of several players who participated in the latter stages of the World Cup.
