Bayern Munich has firmly shut the door on Michael Olise’s proposed transfer to Real Madrid during the current summer window, prompting the Spanish giants to fully shift their attention toward signing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
When asked about Real Madrid’s interest in Olise, Bayern Sporting Director Christoph Freund decisively stated: “This is completely out of the question for us. Michael will play an essential role for Bayern again this season.”
Freund’s statement confirms that the Bavarian hierarchy has no intention of entertaining any offers for the French winger, regardless of the figure, as he remains a cornerstone of the club’s sporting project.
While Real Madrid had evaluated Olise as a primary target over recent weeks, Bayern’s firm refusal led Los Blancos to drop their interest out of respect for the strong relationship between both clubs.
With the Olise deal definitively off the table, Real Madrid’s transfer efforts are now entirely focused on Yan Diomande. The move has earned the approval of manager José Mourinho, who is eager to add extra pace and dynamism to his attacking line.
Real Madrid has already submitted an initial bid worth around €100 million, which RB Leipzig rejected. Reports indicate that the Bundesliga side is holding out for a fee between €115 million and €120 million to part ways with their star player.
On the player’s end, Diomande has given a clear green light to a potential move to the Santiago Bernabéu. Significant progress has been made regarding personal terms, though an official agreement between Real Madrid and Leipzig remains pending.
The European champions are preparing to return with an improved proposal in the coming days, making Diomande their undisputed top target as Bayern’s public stance officially closes the door on Olise.
