Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal are planning another marquee attacking signing after placing Bayern Munich winger Luis Díaz at the top of their summer transfer shortlist.
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, securing the Colombian international represents the “ultimate dream” for Al Hilal’s management. However, the interest remains in its initial stages, with no official bid or advanced negotiations taking place with Bayern yet.
The move comes just hours after the official announcement of Crysencio Summerville’s transfer from West Ham on a four-year contract. The record-breaking deal was fully funded by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal.
Sky Sports estimates the Summerville transfer fee at £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons, making it the most expensive deal of Al Hilal’s summer window so far. Nonetheless, the Riyadh-based club has no intention of stopping there as they look to add another world-class star to Simone Inzaghi’s attack.
Al Hilal’s interest follows a stellar debut season for Díaz in Germany. The 29-year-old scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances, playing a pivotal role in Bayern Munich’s league title triumph. Across all competitions, Díaz logged 51 appearances for the Bavarian giants, boasting an impressive tally of 26 goals and 19 assists while also lifting the DFL-Supercup.
However, pulling off the transfer will be a formidable task. Díaz joined Bayern from Liverpool in the summer of 2025 for around €70 million and remains under contract with the German champions until June 2029.
Summerville became Al Hilal’s sixth confirmed signing this summer and their first foreign acquisition, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, Sabri Dahal, Abdullah Al-Enezi, Mohammed Al-Sarnokh, and Nawaf Al-Habashi. Fans now eagerly await to see if the ambitious pursuit of Luis Díaz will materialize into another major transfer splash.
