Casemiro has become the second-oldest player in history to score a World Cup goal for the Brazilian national team.
The former Manchester United star, who recently transferred to Inter Miami, scored the equalizer for the Seleção against Japan in the Round of 32 at the 2026 tournament hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Casemiro’s goal came at the age of 34 years and 126 days, placing him second among Brazil’s oldest World Cup goalscorers, just behind the legendary Bebeto (34 years and 137 days).
With this milestone, the Real Madrid legend overtook Thiago Silva, who had previously held the second spot after scoring in the World Cup at the age of 33 years and 278 days.
Overall, this marks Casemiro’s 10th international goal for Brazil in 90 appearances across all competitions.
It is also only his second-ever World Cup goal, following his first back in the 2022 edition against Switzerland during the group stage.
