Spanish outlet AS has reported that Real Madrid officials have officially ended their pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, realizing a deal is impossible this summer, and have already identified their alternative Galáctico target.
Bayern Munich has firmly maintained that they will not accept any bids for Olise. Furthermore, the Bavarian giants are actively working on a contract extension for the French international, who is currently enjoying a stellar campaign at the 2026 World Cup.
Real Madrid even issued an official statement denying any negotiations with Olise, out of respect for Bayern Munich and their strong club relations. According to AS, the 23-year-old is completely off Los Blancos’ radar for this summer, though they may revisit the transfer next year depending on his contractual situation.
Mourinho Demands Enzo Fernández Signing
In the meantime, under direct orders from José Mourinho, Real Madrid has decided to shift their focus toward Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández. The Argentine star is set to be Madrid’s marquee signing this summer, with the deal expected to cost the club well over €120 million.
While other midfield options like Morocco’s Ayoub Bouaddi are on the table, Mourinho prefers an established, world-class player. He believes Fernández would be a massive addition at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Fernández is reportedly open to the move, especially since his relationship with Chelsea’s management has practically collapsed in recent months. His agent previously stated that if a new contract with a significant salary bump isn’t reached, they will push for a summer exit.
Given the good relationship between Real Madrid and Chelsea, negotiations are expected to begin shortly. The Blues are believed to be open to selling Enzo for a massive fee to offset recent heavy financial losses.
