Real Madrid retains the right to bring Paz back for a fee not exceeding €20 million, which is the buy-back clause stipulated in the Argentine player’s initial sale contract.

The initial stance within Florentino Pérez’s administration was to trigger the clause and bring back Paz, whose star has shone brightly over the past two seasons in Serie A, especially since the player himself has always dreamed of playing at the Santiago Bernabéu again.

However, the 23-year-old player does not believe that returning to Real Madrid at this moment is the best move for his career. This is particularly true following Los Blancos’ signing of Bernardo Silva, a transfer that effectively crushes any hopes Paz had of securing regular playing time next season.

In recent hours, Como’s hopes of keeping Paz have received a significant boost. Reports suggest that the Italian club has initiated talks with Real Madrid’s management to discuss potential solutions, hoping that Pérez’s board will agree not to activate the buy-back option.

With Franco Mastantuono expected to leave on loan this summer, Bernardo Silva and Arda Güler will remain the primary options available in Paz’s position. Consequently, manager José Mourinho may well greenlight keeping the player at Como for another season.
