On Tuesday, Real Madrid officially announced the extension of Rüdiger’s contract for an additional year, keeping the German international at the Santiago Bernabéu until the summer of 2027.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Rüdiger wrote:

“My mission here is not yet finished. Extending my journey with Real Madrid is a moment of great pride, but above all, it is a commitment to turning things around alongside my teammates.”

He added: “We are going through a challenging phase that demands a lot. Setbacks have tested our strength, but this is exactly where I want to be.”

Addressing his critics, the German defender continued: “Some people might have written me off after the injuries I suffered, but that has only given me greater motivation. So, thank you for that.”

“Anyone who knows me knows that I love challenges and thrive on them. Although last season wasn’t easy, my faith remains unshaken,” Rüdiger emphasized.

He concluded his message with a rallying cry: “Together we stand, together we fight, and together we will overcome this phase… now more than ever. Hala Madrid!”

The 34-year-old center-back is expected to play a pivotal role under José Mourinho next season at Real Madrid. Speculation suggests he will anchor the defense alongside new signing Ibrahima Konaté, leaving Dean Huijsen and Éder Militão on the bench.
