Mourinho has signed a three-year contract for his second stint with the Los Blancos, succeeding Alvaro Arbeloa, whose departure was mutually agreed upon and announced by the club last Wednesday.

According to an official statement released by Real Madrid on Thursday, Mourinho will formally assume his duties on July 13, coinciding with the start of the team’s pre-season preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Real Madrid reportedly paid €15 million to buy out Mourinho’s contract from Benfica, where the Portuguese tactician was under contract until the end of next season.

During his highly successful first tenure, Mourinho revived Real Madrid’s domestic dominance, clinching the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup, alongside guiding the club to three consecutive UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

Now, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, who personally spearheaded the appointment, highly anticipates that the 63-year-old manager will restore the club’s silverware glory after two consecutive seasons without a major trophy.
