According to Kicker, a contract dispute has emerged between Harry Kane and Bayern Munich over the duration of a new deal, potentially opening the door for a summer exit.
The English striker’s current contract expires in the summer of 2027. Despite his clear desire to stay at Bayern after winning the domestic double this season, negotiations have hit a standstill.
The 32-year-old forward requested a two-year extension to remain at the Allianz Arena until June 2029. However, the Bayern board is firmly offering a one-year extension only, running until 2028. This disagreement has prompted Kane to seriously consider leaving in search of a longer contract that secures his future in Europe’s top five leagues past his 35th birthday.
Given his profile, Kane has no shortage of suitors in the Premier League and La Liga. However, any potential transfer remains complicated. Bayern Munich has no intention of letting their star striker leave and feels financially secure now that Kane’s release clause has expired.
With Barcelona previously linked to the forward, Bayern’s honorary president, Uli Hoeness, quickly dismissed the rumors, stating that Barça lacks the financial muscle for such a mega-deal.
Last season, Kane enjoyed a stunning campaign, netting 61 goals and providing 7 assists in 51 appearances.
