Renowned football agent Jorge Mendes has firmly stated that Paris Saint-Germain midfield duo Vitinha and Joao Neves will not be moving to Real Madrid during the current summer transfer window.
Although Real Madrid President Florentino Perez previously announced that Julian Alvarez was the club’s primary target this summer, interest remains high in bringing one of the Portuguese midfielders to the Santiago Bernabéu. The pursuit is reportedly driven by the tactical desires of newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho.
PSG Stance: “Not for Sale”
Mendes, who enjoys a long-standing relationship with Real Madrid’s hierarchy and personally brokered Mourinho’s return to the Los Blancos bench, admitted that signing either player is currently impossible.
In statements reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Mendes declared:
“I can confirm that Joao Neves and Vitinha are not for sale to any club. Paris Saint-Germain completely refuses to negotiate on this matter.”
He further added: “They are extremely happy at PSG and want to continue working hard and winning major trophies here.”
€140 Million Valuation and Alternative Targets
Both Vitinha and Neves are currently valued at €140 million each. The midfield tandem has been instrumental in PSG’s recent golden era at the Parc des Princes, playing a pivotal role in securing back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles for the French giants.
According to British media reports, since the door has been firmly shut on the Portuguese duo, Real Madrid may pivot their attention to Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández. The London club is reportedly open to parting ways with the Argentine midfielder for a substantial transfer fee.
