Bayern Munich have identified Feyenoord star Ismaël Saibari as their marquee summer transfer target to bolster their attack, following their failed pursuit of Anthony Gordon.
The Bavarian giants had previously reached a full agreement with Gordon. However, Barcelona hijacked the deal at the eleventh hour, presenting a massive financial offer to Newcastle United that instantly sealed the move in favor of the Catalan club.
Despite the setback, Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, remains relentless in his search for offensive reinforcements. Consequently, Saibari—who emerged as one of the Eredivisie’s standout performers last season—has taken center stage.
German media outlets report that negotiations are already underway between Bayern and the Moroccan international, with personal terms reportedly very close to being finalized.
Saibari is highly keen on a move to the Allianz Arena, viewing it as the perfect stepping stone for his career. However, he faces a major hurdle: Feyenoord are holding out for a hefty transfer fee.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Feyenoord’s hierarchy has slapped a €60 million price tag on the playmaker. Their valuation is benchmarked against AZ Alkmaar demanding the same amount for Kees Smit, despite Saibari having a far more profound impact on the league last season.
Fortunately for the Bundesliga side, Bayern Munich enjoy an excellent relationship with Feyenoord, having successfully negotiated recent deals involving Paul Wanner and Malik Tillman. This track record gives the German club confidence that a compromise can be reached.
