According to a report by Sport, Barcelona star Ansu Fati, currently on loan at Monaco, has emerged as the top target for Sevilla’s new management led by Sergio Ramos. The legendary defender is reportedly finalizing the purchase of the Andalusian club in the coming weeks and will hold ultimate authority over transfer policy.
Ramos’ potential takeover comes as Sevilla seeks a complete overhaul after two consecutive seasons of battling relegation. The report suggests that Ramos is a firm believer in Fati’s untapped potential and wants to offer the 23-year-old a fresh start in La Liga as a cornerstone of the new project at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
Fati Between Monaco’s Option and a Return to Spain
Speculation intensified after Fati was spotted in the stands at Balaídos watching Sevilla face Celta Vigo, where he was reportedly supporting his friend Ilaix Moriba. Furthermore, Ansu’s father has previously hinted that a move to Sevilla remains a strong possibility due to the family’s deep-rooted ties to the city.
The decision now rests with Fati himself. While AS Monaco is keen to trigger their €11 million purchase option, the French club must wait for the player’s final word. If Fati decides on a return to Spain, he is expected to reject Monaco’s offer and pressure Joan Laporta’s board to accept a lower fee from Sevilla that aligns with the club’s current financial reality.
