Al-Hilal’s superstar Karim Benzema expressed his immense joy after clinching his first title with the “Blue Wave,” following their 2-1 victory over Al-Kholood in the Saudi King Cup final.
“We Fought Until the End”
Speaking to the media after the trophy presentation at the “Jewel” stadium, Benzema praised his team’s resilience: “We played a good match and fought until the very end. We deserved this title.”
The Battle for the Saudi Pro League
With the King Cup secured, Al-Hilal now turns its attention to Saudi Pro League (Roshn League). They currently trail leaders Al-Nassr by just two points with three matches remaining. The upcoming Riyadh Derby is expected to decide the fate of the title.
The Real Madrid legend issued a bold challenge to his rivals:
-
The Ambition: “Our ambition doesn’t stop here. Our next goal is to defeat Al-Nassr and win the league.”
-
The Mentality: “We have three league games left; we will treat each one like a final to make the Al-Hilal fans happy.”
A Recurring Success
Benzema, who led Al-Ittihad to a domestic double last season, now has the chance to repeat the feat with Al-Hilal. Having joined the club only last February, a double would cement his status as one of the greatest ever to play in the Saudi top flight.
