Arsenal reached the 2026 Champions League final after a 1-0 victory over Atlético Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final at the Emirates Stadium.
The first leg at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Spanish capital had ended in a 1-1 draw, and with the Gunners’ win in the return leg, they progressed to the final with a 2-1 aggregate score.
Arsenal dominated the first half, but Atlético Madrid’s resolute defense held firm until the final minute.
Leandro Trossard unleashed a powerful shot that was parried by goalkeeper Jan Oblak, but unfortunately for him, the rebound fell to Bukayo Saka, who immediately volleyed it into the back of the net.

Despite Atlético’s efforts in the second half, Arsenal managed to keep a clean sheet, securing their place in the Champions League final for the first time since 2006.
Arsenal will face the winner of the Paris Saint-Germain vs. Bayern Munich match in the final, scheduled for May 30 at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.
Arsenal’s chances of a historic double remain alive, as Mikel Arteta’s team leads the Premier League by five points over Manchester City with three matches remaining.
