The home side took the lead through Englishman Joshua King in the 11th minute, before Sergej Milinkovic-Savic equalized in the 34th minute.

As the match drew to a close, and amidst Al-Hilal’s relentless efforts to secure a winning goal, a bizarre defensive error from Al-Khaleej proved decisive.

Left-back Rebeko received the ball in Al-Khaleej’s penalty area and, inexplicably, passed it directly to Sultan Mandash in front of the goal. Mandash made no mistake, slotting the ball into the net and securing the victory for his team.

This win comes after Al-Nassr’s surprising 3-1 defeat to Al-Qadisiyah, further fueling the Saudi League title race.

Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal are now tied with 31 matches each, with Al-Nassr currently leading the league with 79 points, just two points ahead of Al-Hilal.

Any slip-up by Al-Nassr coupled with an Al-Hilal victory would see Simone Inzaghi’s men reclaim the top spot, with only three rounds remaining in the Saudi Professional League.

Al-Nassr is scheduled to face Al-Shabab on Thursday, while Al-Hilal will play Al-Kholoud in the King’s Cup final on Friday.

The Riyadh derby will take place on Tuesday, May 12th, at Al-Ahli Park, a match that will practically determine the champion of this edition.
