Thibaut Courtois will be available for the Real Madrid-Barcelona match on May 10th after making a full recovery.
The Belgian goalkeeper has been sidelined since mid-March after sustaining an injury during the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Manchester City.
Since Courtois’s absence, Real Madrid’s results have clearly declined, despite Andriy Lunin’s attempts to fill in. However, he is now close to returning to Álvaro Arbeloa’s squad.
Marca reports that Courtois will gradually rejoin Real Madrid’s group training sessions soon, and barring any setbacks, he should be ready in 13 days.
The 32-year-old will miss the Espanyol match but will be fit to guard the Los Blancos’ goal in El Clásico.
This news gives Real Madrid hope for a good result in El Clasico, especially since Courtois’ absence has led to 3 defeats and 2 draws, compared to only 2 wins in the last 7 matches in all competitions.
