Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez reassured the club’s fans about the future, emphasizing that Los Blancos never give up and will fight for every title until the very last moment.
The Madrid president’s remarks come at a time when Real Madrid is on the verge of losing the Spanish league title for the second consecutive year after the gap between them and league leaders Barcelona widened to nine points.
During a meeting with the club’s 730 most distinguished members, who were honored for their 50 years of membership, Pérez said, “You, who have dedicated your lives to Real Madrid, know very well that no one here gives up.”
He added, “You also know that we will continue to fight year after year, until the end, to continue adding titles to the most successful record in the history of sport, a record that belongs to Real Madrid.”
He went on to list the club’s achievements: “We have won 58 titles in the last 15 years, including six European Cups in football and three European Cups in basketball.”
He continued, “This demonstrates our level of discipline and self-demand, but it also prompts us to reflect: to put things in perspective and to recognize the magnitude of the challenges we face in achieving each victory and each title.”
He concluded, “We should be proud of Real Madrid; this club that continues to lead the major global rankings, both economically and in terms of prestige.”
