Neymar is still under contract with his boyhood club, Santos, until the end of 2026, having extended his contract for one year last December.

According to the source, Cincinnati has already begun contacting representatives of the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star to gauge his interest and initiate preliminary discussions about a potential move.

Cincinnati’s inquiries focused on whether the player would consider a move to MLS, as well as the financial framework required to facilitate such a high-profile transfer.

Any decision regarding Neymar’s future is expected to be postponed until after the 2026 World Cup, regardless of whether he plays for the Brazilian national team.

Neymar has been sidelined for the past two weeks due to a knee injury, limiting his appearances in 2026 to just six matches, during which he has scored three goals and provided three assists.

Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has repeatedly stated that Neymar will be a candidate for the World Cup squad if he is fully fit.

It’s worth noting that Neymar has hinted at retiring from football at the end of this year due to his recurring injuries, while still dreaming of participating in the World Cup with the Seleção before bringing his illustrious career to a close.
