With Salah as the star… A major swap deal between Liverpool and Al-Hilal

The 34-year-old is expected to terminate his contract, which runs until the summer of 2027, with Liverpool, and consequently, he can move to any club on a free transfer, amidst significant interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

English reports indicate that Liverpool wants to sign Al-Hilal striker Marcos Leonardo, especially since the Brazilian can play as a center forward, attacking midfielder, and winger – a versatility the Reds desperately need in the coming period.

Leonardo welcomes a return to Europe and was close to joining Atletico Madrid last winter before the deal fell through at the last minute.

Initially, Al-Hilal is not opposed to selling Leonardo, but is demanding at least €50 million to complete the transfer, while Liverpool wants to propose a swap deal involving Salah to entice the Blue Wave to accept the deal.

The proposed plan involves Liverpool facilitating the financial details of Salah’s departure as part of a major swap deal that would see the Egyptian player join Al-Hilal, while Leonardo moves to the Reds.

However, the question remains whether Al-Hilal is even interested in signing Salah. Saudi media outlets indicate that Al-Ittihad is the club vying for the Egyptian international’s services, making the Leonardo deal unlikely unless Al-Hilal changes its priorities.
