The newspaper “Sport” revealed that Barcelona has finally found its desired striker in the German league and has already begun negotiations with him in preparation for signing him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Barça is looking for a young striker to lead the team’s attack, given the expected departure of either Robert Lewandowski or Ferran Torres in the next transfer window.
Barcelona Wants to Sign Asllani
According to the latest report, Barcelona has begun initial contact with Hoffenheim striker Fensik Asllani to gauge his interest in a move to Camp Nou.
At the same time, Barcelona has contacted the German club to ascertain their initial financial demands for agreeing to sell the 23-year-old in the upcoming market.
Ayman Dahmani, Asllani’s agent, stated that Barcelona has requested official information regarding Asllani’s situation, confirming that the Kosovar player has become the Blaugrana’s top target to succeed either Lewandowski or Torres.
However, the deal is far from finalized, as Barcelona is still in the “information gathering” phase, and several factors need clarification, including the precise terms of his release clause.
Asllani on the radar of several European clubs
Barcelona is not the only club interested in signing the Kosovar player. Several major European clubs are planning to try and secure Asllani’s services in the 2026 transfer window.
Asllani has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund, in particular, given the strong relationship between the German club and Hoffenheim, as a potential replacement for Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy, who is expected to leave at the end of the current season.
Among the clubs considering Asslani is Bayern Munich, who want to sign a new striker to share the role with Harry Kane when needed, especially since Nicholas Jackson will only be bought from Chelsea if the Blues agree to a significant price reduction, which is highly unlikely.
From the Premier League, Chelsea and Tottenham appear to be the most interested in the young player, who received substantial offers from Stuttgart and Fenerbahce last summer, but Hoffenheim categorically refused to sell him.

Asllani’s price won’t be high
Asllani’s recent performances on the international stage with the Kosovo national team have significantly increased his value, and Hoffenheim undoubtedly stands to benefit the most from this situation. They are guaranteed to make a substantial profit from him after signing him for free in the summer of 2020 from Union Berlin’s youth academy.
Although his contract runs until the summer of 2029, Asllani’s transfer fee won’t be high, as he has a release clause reportedly worth only €30 million, making him an ideal option for Barcelona.
In this scenario, Barcelona will likely have to choose between signing Asllani or, for the same amount of money, buying Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. This puts coach Hansi Flick in a very difficult position, although he is expected to lean more towards the Bundesliga star.
Asllani is enjoying a remarkable season with Hoffenheim, having scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances. His versatility, as a playmaker or winger when needed, is a key strength, perfectly aligning with Barcelona and Flick’s requirements for a new striker.
Julian Álvarez remains Barcelona’s dream signing.
Julian Álvarez, the Atlético Madrid striker, remains Barcelona’s dream signing to bolster their attack. However, it is unlikely the Catalan club will be able to meet the exorbitant financial demands of the Madrid club, reportedly reaching €100 million.
Besides Asllani, there are other options, including Omar Marmoush of Manchester City and Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray.
