Officially… De Zerbi is Tottenham’s new manager

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the appointment of Italian Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager, replacing Croatian Igor Tudor, whose tenure lasted just 44 days.

According to British media, the Italian has agreed to a long-term, five-year contract with Tottenham, with rumors suggesting a clause allowing him to leave if Spurs are relegated to the Championship.

This means that in just two months, De Zerbi will become Spurs’ third manager, and he will either be hailed as a historic hero by the fans or forever associated with one of the worst seasons in the London club’s history.

Tottenham currently sit 17th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, and haven’t tasted victory in the competition since the start of 2026.

With only seven matches remaining in Tottenham’s season, the London club will play three home games against Brighton, Leeds, and Everton, and four away games against Sunderland, Wolverhampton, Aston Villa, and Chelsea.

De Zerby’s first task will be against Sunderland on April 12th, followed six days later by an emotional London derby against his former club, Brighton.

De Zerby has an impressive track record, having guided Brighton to European qualification in both of his seasons in the Premier League (2022-2024), and also led Marseille to a second-place finish in Ligue 1 before his departure last February.
