A fierce battle is brewing between Argentina, Germany, and Italy for Trisoldi

Argentina, Italy, and Germany are locked in a battle for one of Europe’s most promising young players, Nicolò Trisoldi, who is eligible to represent any of the three nations.

Trisold holds three passports, and since he has yet to make a senior appearance for any country, he could change his mind.

Born in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, he moved to Hanover, Germany, at the age of 13 and acquired German citizenship in 2022. However, among his three passports, he also holds an Argentinian passport due to his mother’s heritage.

Trisold has consistently represented Germany at various youth levels, from the under-19s to his current role as a key striker for the under-21 team.

According to the German newspaper Bild, the Argentinian Football Association has made initial contact with the player and his family with the aim of naturalizing him and bringing him into the national team.

In Germany, some have begun to express their dissatisfaction with coach Julian Nagelsmann’s preference for relying solely on established players in the national team, without giving Trisoldi a chance yet.

The young striker is a key player for Club Brugge, having scored 17 goals and provided 5 assists in nearly 50 appearances.

Trisoldi has been linked with several prestigious clubs, including AC Milan, and it has also been reported that Arsenal and Lazio are monitoring the young player, along with several clubs within Germany, most notably Stuttgart.
