Surprise: Barcelona Offers Lewandowski a Contract Extension!

Barcelona have offered striker Robert Lewandowski a contract extension for next season, should he wish to remain with the team.

The 37-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of next season, and his future remains uncertain.

The Polish striker has largely lost his place in the starting lineup this season to Ferran Torres, and it is reported that Barça are already prioritizing a new striker in their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, the option of Lewandowski staying is now firmly on the table for Joan Laporta’s administration, who highly value the player’s efforts, dedication, and commitment to maintaining his physical condition.

According to the newspaper Sport, Barcelona has presented Lewandowski with a new offer, including a roughly 50% pay cut, along with a range of bonuses and incentives that could significantly increase his final salary.

If Lewandowski stays, he will play a backup role, while Ferran Torres will be put up for sale next summer.

Lewandowski remains undecided about the offer. He is unwilling to accept a marginal role and wants direct assurance from Hansi Flick and the management that he will play a central part in the Blaugrana project.

It’s worth noting that Lewandowski has a lucrative offer from Chicago Fire in the US, and is also being closely monitored by Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus. Saudi Arabia remains a possible destination for the experienced striker’s next move.
