Barcelona had hoped for a peaceful and stress-free final international break of the season, but things haven’t gone according to plan.
Rafinha has already missed six weeks this season due to recurring hamstring injuries, and now the 28-year-old will be out for a significant period during a crucial phase of the Blaugrana’s season.
The Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed that Rafinha suffered a muscle problem during Friday morning’s friendly against France, before later announcing his withdrawal from the US training camp and his return to Spain.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Rafinha will be out for at least a month due to this injury, pending the results of final tests before an official announcement is made.
If the medical diagnosis is confirmed, Rafinha will miss Barcelona’s matches against Atletico Madrid (two in the Champions League and one in La Liga), as well as the matches against Espanyol, Celta Vigo and Getafe, with his return expected at the beginning of May when facing Osasuna.
