Tottenham manager Igor Tudor received devastating news, adding to his current woes on the sporting front, but this time on a personal level.
Tottenham suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, and Tudor did not appear at the post-match press conference as usual. His assistant coach took his place.
According to Croatian media, Tudor’s father passed away on Sunday, and the manager was informed of the news immediately after the final whistle of the Nottingham match.
Tudor immediately went home to attend the funeral with his family, which explains his absence from the press conference.
The Croatian manager’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain, and it is widely believed that he will be dismissed within the next few days, especially after the recent defeat that has left Spurs just one point above the relegation zone.
Tudor took over as Tottenham manager last February, replacing Thomas Frank. Under his leadership, Spurs were eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16 by Atlético Madrid and have yet to secure a victory in the Premier League.
In fact, Tottenham’s last Premier League win dates back to December 28th, and since then they have lost six of their last seven matches, managing only one point – a draw against Liverpool at Anfield a week ago.
