The newspaper “Al-Youm” reported that several Saudi League clubs are closely monitoring the situation of Liverpool star Ibrahima Konaté, anticipating a possible move for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Konaté’s contract with the Reds expires at the end of the current season, and it is highly unlikely he will renew. Real Madrid, in particular, are showing strong interest in signing the French international to bolster their central defense.
According to the report, more than one Saudi club (without revealing their names) are exploring the possibility of signing Konaté, especially since the deal would be free and would represent a significant technical boost for the Saudi League.
Konaté has yet to make a decision, although some Spanish reports have indicated Real Madrid’s intention to entice him with a signing bonus that could reach €15 million.
Speaking of financial incentives, Saudi League clubs would undoubtedly offer Konaté a higher salary than he would receive at Real Madrid, in addition to a potentially larger signing bonus.
Reports from sources close to the player indicated that he wanted to leave the English Premier League, and that Italian and German clubs, in addition to Real Madrid, might also be interested in acquiring his services.
