English media outlets have reported that Chelsea’s management will not allow Enzo Fernandez to leave for Real Madrid or any other club, considering him one of the most important players in the club’s project to return to winning titles.
The Argentine international had hinted at a possible departure from Chelsea after the Blues were eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain with an 8-2 aggregate score.
According to English newspapers, Chelsea will enter into negotiations with Fernandez in the coming weeks to renew his contract, making him the highest-paid player at the club, which may convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Despite his controversial statements, Enzo’s priority remains to stay with Chelsea, and he will not push for a move, contrary to what has been rumored.
Unless something changes, Chelsea is expected to finalize this matter completely before the 2026 World Cup by renewing the 25-year-old’s contract for a long term, without including a release clause in the new deal.
It is worth noting that Enzo is the biggest deal in Chelsea’s history, having joined the London club for around 140 million euros from Benfica, and leading the team to win the 2025 Club World Cup title.
