Inter Milan inquire about signing Real Madrid star

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan has contacted the agents of Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to explore the possibility of signing him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Ukrainian goalkeeper has spent the last two years on the bench due to the outstanding performances of Thibaut Courtois. Despite having a long contract remaining, his departure in the next transfer window is a possibility.

Inter is looking for a young goalkeeper with exceptional potential like Lunin to secure the starting position for years to come, especially with Yann Sommer’s expected departure next summer or in 2027.

Lunin initially welcomed the idea of joining a prestigious club like Inter, but he has temporarily put negotiations on hold after returning to Real Madrid’s goal.

Lunin will be Real Madrid’s goalkeeper for approximately a month following Courtois’ injury in the match against Manchester City. The 26-year-old prefers to focus on his performances in the coming period and then consider his future at the end of the current season.

Lunin had shone two seasons ago and was one of the main reasons for Real Madrid winning the Champions League title, but with Courtois’ return from a cruciate ligament injury, he did not get many opportunities, and in his lackluster appearances, his level was much lower than it was in 2023.
