Egypt cancels friendly against Spain

Ibrahim Hassan, the Egyptian national team manager, announced the cancellation of the Pharaohs’ friendly match against Spain, which was scheduled for the end of March.

The match was supposed to be held in Qatar, but the Qatari side apologized, citing its inability to host the encounter due to the ongoing conflict in the Arabian Gulf region.

Spain proposed moving the match to Spanish soil, and Hossam Hassan and the Egyptian Football Association initially agreed to this proposal.

However, Ibrahim Hassan announced the cancellation of the friendly on Wednesday. According to Egyptian media, the reason behind the cancellation is the limited time available to obtain visas.

Thus, the Egyptian national team will play only one friendly match during the upcoming international break, against Saudi Arabia on March 27 at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah.

There are ongoing efforts to arrange for Egypt to face a world-class team, as requested by Hossam Hassan, and Hani Abu Rida’s administration will continue working to secure another friendly match during this international break.
