The Stadium Most Likely to Host the Egypt-Spain Match Revealed

The friendly match between Egypt and Spain will take place at the end of March in Spain, but the venue has yet to be determined.

The match was originally scheduled to be held in Qatar, but the ongoing conflict in the Arabian Gulf led to its relocation to Spain, following the approval of Egypt’s national team coach, Hossam Hassan.

Spain will play a friendly against Serbia at the start of the international break, at Villarreal’s Estadio de la Cerámica on March 27.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the Royal Spanish Football Federation has approached Espanyol about hosting the Egypt match at their RCDE Stadium in Catalonia, after the Egyptian Football Association agreed.

Espanyol has not yet announced its acceptance or rejection, but it is widely believed that Barcelona’s arch-rival will host the highly anticipated friendly.

There is a belief that the stature of the Egyptian national team, led by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, could attract a large number of Arab fans in Barcelona.

This will be the second match between Spain and Egypt, after La Roja’s 2-0 victory over the Pharaohs in Elche on June 3, 2006, with goals from Raul and Reyes.
