Questions have multiplied regarding whether the Egyptian national team will face Spain during the international break this March, following Qatar’s announcement that it is unable to host the matches that were scheduled to be held there.
Egypt was supposed to hold a training camp in Qatar, during which they would first face the Saudi Arabian national team, and then play Spain on March 31.
Ultimately, the Egyptian Football Association announced that the Egypt-Saudi Arabia match would be moved to Jeddah, but did not disclose the status of the Spain match.
According to Egyptian media, Spain offered to host the Egypt match in Madrid, but a final decision has not yet been made by Hani Abu Rida’s administration.
The Egyptian Football Association is in favor of the idea, while national team coach Hossam Hassan prefers to wait before making a decision, as he fears the players will be fatigued by traveling from Saudi Arabia to Spain in just three days.
Ultimately, Hossam Hassan agreed to play the match in Spain, and official arrangements began between both sides to hold the match as scheduled, followed by the official announcement of the highly anticipated event.
