Real Madrid fans were concerned after Aurélien Tchouaméni and Ferland Mendy both suffered injuries during Wednesday’s Champions League round of 16 first leg against Manchester City.
Mendy was forced to leave the game at halftime, replaced by Fran García, while Tchouaméni played the full 90 minutes but left with visible muscle pain.
The concern intensified after Álvaro Arbeloa specifically commented on Mendy’s injury, indicating that it didn’t look good.
However, according to AS, Mendy underwent medical tests on Thursday morning, which revealed that he is not suffering from a serious injury and simply needs rest.
The same applies to Tchouaméni, who is expected to be fit for the upcoming La Liga match against Elche, scheduled for next Saturday.
Mendy will be precautionarily left out of the Elche match, with high hopes that he will make a full recovery and be available for the City game at the Etihad Stadium next Tuesday.
It’s worth noting that Real Madrid are also expected to have Alvaro Carreras back in the squad for the second leg, while the availability of Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham for the match against Pep Guardiola’s side remains uncertain.
