English media outlets have reported that Igor Tudor’s future as Tottenham manager is hanging by a thread after the London club’s dangerously close position near the relegation zone in the Premier League.
The Croatian coach took over the reins at Spurs on February 14th, replacing Dane Thomas Frank. He has led Tottenham in two matches against Arsenal and Fulham, both of which they lost.
If Tudor suffers a third defeat against Crystal Palace on Thursday, Tottenham’s management may dismiss him and bring in another interim manager to save the team from relegation.
There is growing concern about the performances against Arsenal and Fulham. Hopes were high that Tudor would bring about a quick improvement in results, but the situation remains unchanged from Frank’s.
Tottenham’s management believes they can no longer afford to be patient with Tudor. A win against Crystal Palace would secure his position, while a defeat would likely lead to his dismissal, necessitating the appointment of a manager with the necessary Premier League experience to quickly turn things around.
Tottenham are currently 16th in the Premier League table, just 4 points above the first relegation spot.
