Real Madrid star sidelined for extended period due to injury

The injury curse continues to plague Real Madrid, this time with Dani Ceballos as the victim. He left Saturday’s match against Osasuna with what appeared to be a serious injury.

According to Real Madrid’s official statement, the Spanish international is suffering from a muscle injury in his right calf.

Spanish media outlets revealed that Ceballos will need at least seven weeks, or approximately two months, to recover and return to playing for Real Madrid.

This injury adds to Ceballos’ woes, as he faced heavy criticism after the Osasuna match. Many blamed him for the defeat after he lost possession, which directly led to Pamplona’s second goal.

After the match, Ceballos apologized to fans via his Instagram account for the mistake.

With his absence for approximately two months, the 28-year-old will miss Real Madrid’s matches against Benfica, Getafe, Celta Vigo, Elche, Atletico Madrid, Mallorca and Girona, with the hope of returning on April 22 for the Alaves match.
