The AFC Champions League match between Al-Ahli Saudi and Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai witnessed one of the strangest goals of the season.
Al-Ahli took the lead through Firas Al-Buraikan in the 12th minute at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.
In the 35th minute, defender Bogdan Planić passed the ball back to Shabab Al-Ahli goalkeeper Hamad Al-Muqbali, who then made the most bizarre decision.
Inexplicably, Al-Muqbali waited for the ball to cross the line, failing to pass it, resulting in Al-Ahli’s second goal.
