A fierce battle is brewing between Liverpool and Bayern Munich for the “successor to Salah”

Bayern Munich has entered the race to sign RB Leipzig’s star player, Yan Diomande, during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old Diomande is considered one of the most promising players of his generation, boasting excellent ambidexterity, speed, and skill.

This season, he has scored nine goals for Leipzig across all competitions, most recently against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga last Sunday.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is highly impressed with the young player’s performances and has urged the Bavarian club’s management to sign him this summer.

A fierce competition is expected between Bayern and Liverpool for the Ivorian international, with the Reds’ management already identifying Diomande as Mohamed Salah’s successor at Anfield, given the Egyptian King’s anticipated departure at the end of the current season.

RB Leipzig acquired Diomande for €25 million last summer from Leganés, and the German club would be open to selling the player after just one year if they receive a substantial offer.

Initial reports indicate that Leipzig has set a €100 million price tag for their prized asset, while remaining open to negotiations that could ultimately lead to a sale for between €80 and €90 million.

Leipzig is considered one of Germany’s top clubs for developing young talent, with Benjamin Sissoko’s recent €80 million transfer to Manchester United being one of their most recent graduates. Other notable names from their youth academy include Dominik Szoboszlai, Dani Olmo, and Luis Openda.
