Ancelotti Rejects Manchester United Job

Carlo Ancelotti has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Brazilian national team, effectively ending Manchester United’s interest in signing him as a permanent replacement for Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

British media had reported that United were pursuing either Ancelotti or Thomas Tuchel to manage the Red Devils next season.

Tuchel recently extended his contract with the England national team until Euro 2028, and now Ancelotti has also agreed to remain with Brazil until the 2030 World Cup in Spain, Morocco, and Portugal.

The Athletic reports that Ancelotti is thoroughly enjoying his current experience with Brazil and hopes to lead the Seleção to victory in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Italian coach believes that international football is currently the best fit for him, given his age and his previous success with clubs. With the exception of Real Madrid, he is not interested in returning to manage any other European club.

Manchester United’s options for a new permanent manager next season are clearly dwindling, with current Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner remaining the favorite, or Michael Carrick potentially staying on and being given a new contract.
