Arda Güler’s discoverer, Serhat Pekceci, sparked considerable controversy when he stated that the Turkish star has been a “victim of bullying” since arriving at Real Madrid in the summer of 2014.
Pekceci told Turkish media, “Although Real Madrid is a prestigious club, Güler is being bullied. He didn’t complain to me, but I knew this would happen, and I advised him to be patient.”
He added, “Arda is very patient and understanding, but even he has started to rebel. He’s begun to question why he’s always the target of the bullying.”
These statements spread like wildfire in the past few hours, amidst analyses of the recent tense atmosphere in the Real Madrid dressing room and its impact on the team’s results over the last two seasons.
Güler, for his part, immediately denied these statements completely, describing Real Madrid as his second family.
The 20-year-old said, “From my very first day, I received a warm welcome from everyone at this club, and I’ve always considered this place to be like a family.”
He added, “I followed with sadness the recent public statements made by the former head of scouting, Mr. Serhat Pekcemci, who played a significant role in the beginning of my career.”
He continued, “I am very proud to be a Real Madrid player and I hope to have the honor of serving this badge for many years to come. We have a very strong team, and I am happy and honored to be alongside all my teammates.”
He concluded, “I ask everyone to disregard any written or spoken comments or reports on this matter.”
It’s worth noting that Güler has made 35 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 12 assists.
