British media reports indicate that Vitor Pereira is on the verge of taking over as Nottingham Forest manager, replacing the sacked Sean Dyche.
Nottingham Forest dismissed Dyche following a goalless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday, leaving the City Ground side just three points above the relegation zone after he took over from Ange Postecoglou last October.
Nottingham Forest have been in talks with Pereira, particularly given his good relationship with the club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, who previously appointed him as manager of Olympiacos.
The 57-year-old Pereira left Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia last season to save Wolverhampton Wanderers from relegation, before being sacked in November after managing just two points from the first 10 Premier League matches.
Upon his appointment, Pereira will become Nottingham Forest’s fourth manager this season. The club started with Nuno Santo, who was then sacked due to disagreements with the owner, while Ange Postecoglou failed miserably in his mission and was dismissed after less than 40 days in charge. Dyche only stayed in his position for four months.
