Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to end his strike from Al-Nassr’s matches and return to full training after resolving his issues with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).
The 41-year-old star missed two of the team’s matches in the Saudi Professional League: last Friday’s 2-0 victory over Al-Ittihad and the previous week’s win against Al-Riyadh.
According to sources, the Portuguese national team captain stated that he will return to play in the team’s match against Al-Fateh scheduled for February 14th. Al-Nassr will also play next Wednesday against Arkadaj in the AFC Champions League (2).
Ronaldo agreed to return to the pitch after the PIF met his main demands, namely the payment of Al-Nassr’s outstanding salaries and the restoration of administrative powers to the club’s senior executives.
Consequently, Simão Coutinho (Sporting Director) and José Semedo (Executive Director) will regain their positions after being suspended by the fund in recent months.
It is worth noting that Ronaldo has played 22 matches for the team so far this season, scoring 18 goals and providing three assists. Al-Nassr currently sits second in the Saudi Professional League, just one point behind their arch-rivals Al-Hilal.
