PSG Achieves Biggest Victory in French Classique History Against Marseille

Paris Saint-Germain crushed their visitors Marseille 5-0 in the match held at the Parc des Princes as part of the 21st round of the French League.

Ousmane Dembélé scored two goals in the first half, while Facundo Medina (own goal), Khvica Kvaratskhelia, and Lee Kang-in added the other three goals in the second half.

This result is now the biggest victory in the history of the French Classique between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille.

The previous record was set in 1978 when PSG defeated Marseille 5-1, and now Luis Enrique’s men have made history in their own way.

The victory brings the defending champions’ tally to 51 points at the top of the French League standings, two points ahead of their closest rivals, Lens.

Marseille’s tally remained frozen at 39 points in fourth place, and after this defeat, it became likely that coach Roberto De Zerbi would leave, especially after the French club’s exit from the league stage of the Champions League.
