Enppi officially announced the signing of international winger Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba” on a free transfer until the end of the current season. The player returns to the club where he first began his football career.
Kahraba’s return to the Egyptian Premier League comes just days after he unilaterally terminated his contract with Kuwaiti club Al-Qadsia due to unpaid wages.
The past few days witnessed a fierce competition among several Egyptian clubs to secure the player’s services. Ghazl El Mahalla was close to finalizing the deal, but negotiations collapsed at the last minute because of the player’s desire to settle in the capital and his refusal to move to El Mahalla.
Ultimately, Kahraba returns to where his professional career began, hoping to rediscover the form that made him one of the most prominent figures in Egyptian football over the past decade.
From Enppi, Kahraba moved to Zamalek in the summer of 2015, then went on loan to Saudi Arabia before returning to the White Knights. He then terminated his contract and joined Al Ahly in a controversial transfer that resulted in his suspension by the Court of Arbitration for Sport and a hefty fine of $2.5 million.
After playing for Al Ahly for four years, Kahraba moved to the Libyan league before arriving in Kuwait last summer for his most recent stint with Al-Qadsia.
