Arsenal has suffered another setback after the length of Bukayo Saka’s absence was determined following the injury he sustained before the recent match against Leeds United.
The England international was expected to start against Leeds, but during the pre-match warm-up, he felt some pain and was substituted, with Noni Madueke replacing him.
According to the BBC, Saka has suffered a new hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined for approximately a month.
It is now certain that Saka will miss the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea, as well as the Premier League matches against Sunderland and Brentford, and the FA Cup tie against Wigan.
The Gunners are currently hoping that Saka will return in three weeks, before the match against Tottenham on February 22nd, with a worst-case scenario being his return against Brighton on March 4th.
The 24-year-old has been a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, making 31 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists.
Saka joins Arsenal’s growing injury list, which also includes Mikel Merino, who will be sidelined for months and whose season is reportedly over after undergoing foot surgery.
Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League table, six points clear of second-placed Manchester City, and are still in contention for the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, in addition to having reached the Champions League round of 16.
